Driver Distraction Camera Systems
Encourage your drivers to stay focused on surrounding traffic.
Distracted driving is one of the biggest problems fleet managers have to deal with. According to NHTSA.gov, distracted driving has become a dangerous epidemic. Each year, there are over 3,000 people killed in crashes caused by distracted driving. A driving distraction is any activity that takes the driver’s mind and attention off of the road or reduces the visual connection with the road, traffic and surrounding environment.
Often used to help better or correct driving behavior, dual-facing dash cams provide video both inside the cab of the vehicle and the road ahead. This video can help management teams build a driver coaching system by allowing the team to quickly find and resolve issues with distracted or poor driving habits. Some systems even offer infrared LEDs so that management can continue to monitor drivers at night.
For parents, dual-facing dash cams both protect young drivers from liability concerns, and offer the opportunity to coach them. Sure, they’ll tell you they aren’t texting and driving, but are they? Know for sure, even when you aren’t with them. Kids thrive with appropriate limits and boundaries, and knowing someone is watching helps keep them accountable – and therefore safe.
